Hands Create Fine Arts Studio, located at The Arboretum Shopping Center, is a hub for fostering creativity and artistic exploration. We offer diversified and engaging art classes for children, teens, and adults, aiming to share the intrinsic joy of creating with one’s hands.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic, professional, and fun-loving Art Educator to teach summer fine art camps for children aged 5–13. The ideal candidate will be experienced in teaching art to children, highly organized, and able to create a lively and enjoyable learning environment while incorporating art history and cultural elements into their lessons.

Key Responsibilities:

*Plan, organize, and execute engaging fine art lessons for weekly summer camps.

*Develop lesson plans that focus on process- and choice-based learning, allowing for personal expression.

*Introduce students to diverse art mediums and techniques, creating projects that take several hours over the week to complete.

*Incorporate art history and art from various cultures into lesson content.

*Manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive, inclusive, and fun atmosphere.

*Troubleshoot unexpected challenges and adapt to changes quickly and effectively.

*Communicate professionally and warmly with children, parents, and staff.

*Prepare materials and maintain a clean and organized workspace.

*Ensure safety protocols and procedures are followed during all activities.

Qualifications:

Experience: Minimum of 1 year teaching art to children in a classroom, camp, or similar setting.

Education: Degree in Fine Arts, Art Education, or a related field is preferred.

*Strong understanding of child development and ability to tailor lessons to different age groups.

*Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with both children and adults.

*A bubbly, flexible, and solution-oriented attitude.

*Proven ability to organize and manage art materials effectively.

*A background in process and choice-based teaching approaches is a plus.

Compensation:

Salary is commensurate with experience.

Additional Opportunities:

This position may extend into a year-round Art Educator/Studio Manager role beginning in Fall 2025.

*Availability for summer camp program dates and potential studio events.
